Virgin Mobile has the BlackBerry Classic Available Now Starting at $49.99.

BB Classic on Virgin

Hot off the heels of the BlackBerry Classic launch, Virgin Mobile in Canada is showing the Classic available now! As the picture above shows, pricing is as follows:

  • 2 year Platinum Plan – $49.99
  • 2 year Gold Plan – $249.99
  • 2 year Silver Plan – $349.99
  • Month to month – $499.99

I’m not sure if I’m totally swayed back to physical keyboard land quite yet, but the statistic put forth during launch about physical keyboards being 4X more accurate than virtual intrigued me.

Will you be picking up a Classic? If so, what’s the main reason? Is it the trackpad? Utility belt? Tried and tested keyboard? Build quality? Or maybe it’s just plain nostalgia. Drop a comment to start the discussion!

  1. I can believe the stats of a physical kb being more accurate. That’s my biggest thing with my Z10 is hitting the wrong key. A year ago I would have taken the Classic immediately but I love the increased real estate of the big screen now

    • Agreed. The virtual keyboard is pretty amazing in its own right. Because of how accurate autocorrect and word suggestions are, I have become quite fast at typing. Not to mention the keyboard gestures to speed things up as well. Swiping left to delete a word has become so ingrained in my typing habits that I’ve actually tried to do it while typing on a regular computer keyboard. Haha.

The extra screen space is awesome. Especially on the beastly Z30. It’s too bad the Z50 is looking like a mid range all touch. I want to see a flagship all touch with specs the same or better than Passport.
