Jeff Gadway Describes the BlackBerry Classic

Classic (2)

Jeff just hit the stage to explain what makes the BlackBerry Classic and what that means to BlackBerry. He starts with the RIM 950 in 1998 and then hits on the keyboard on the 9900 that really set the bar. That device is still hugely popular on Wall Street but BlackBerry has been trying to come up with a productive successor ever since. Jeff says that today is the day that they are going back to the roots that made tens of thousands of people “BlackBerry People.” The Classic is inspired by customers.

This is why BlackBerry is so excited about the Classic when it comes to bringing people back to the platforms. Its all about the navigation that is re-enabled by the trackpad. For example, immediately highlighting the most common next step. On top of that they allow you to easily select more than one email. The Classic is all about one handed navigation and speed.
