AT&T, Verizon, Bell & Rogers Confirmed to Carry the BlackBerry Classic

BlackBerry just had AT&T execs on the stage announcing that they are going to be carrying the Classic at launch in ALL distribution and retail channels. That is pretty sweet since BlackBerry has been losing ground in retail channels in the US. They have also confirmed that it will be carried by Verizon, Bell, and Rogers on top of being available unlocked online with preorders shipping now and into next week.

They have confirmed that the pricing would be $449 for the US and $499 in Canada. John Chen said that most of the carriers around the world are confirmed to carry the device.

  1. Was thrilled to hear that AT&T will be carrying it on launch, now I just need to know when.

  2. Seems like Chen is also trying to rebuild BlackBerry’s relationship with the carriers, or at least paying attention to them. Here’s hoping that BlackBerry eventually takes control of OS releases, as that has to be one of my biggest annoyances (AT&T is always deadlast because they are so “concerned about they’re own customers”).

  3. BB10 needs to be Updated via OTA period. No more crappy Carrier delayed releases. This is a MUST 10000%.
