Tim Neil Leaves BlackBerry – Still Working on BatBerry!

Tim Neil

BlackBerry took another loss this week with Tim Neil leaving today. Those of you who have developed anything with WebWorks or HTML5 on BlackBerry 10 are probably very aware of Tim’s contributions to the platform. He was behind the BBUI.js framework along with quite a large portion of the WebWorks functionality. He has also been working on a pet project called the BatBerry powered by BlackBerry 10.

Either way Tim announced on his blog that he had his last day at BlackBerry today. He obviously dressed up as Batman for his last day at the company and shared some pictures of him with the BlackBerry team. All I can say for Tim is best of luck with your next endeavor and you will be sorely missed! Hopefully BlackBerry can find someone to stand in his shoes.

  1. I feel this is like what happened to Alex Kinsella. He left the company but is as vocal as ever about his love for BlackBerry10.

Business as usual, somebody offers you a better job, you take it.

Best of luck for him. I hope the BatBerry can be ready for prime time for the 10.3 release. xD
