BlackBerry Blend retail demo (video)

screenshot1

It seems BlackBerry is getting ready to finally launch its Blend solution which allows a BlackBerry 10 user to have access to his messages (Email, BBM, SMS), contacts, appointments from any desktop or tablet computer, after having paired it with his smartphone.

We’ve seen various demonstrations of the system in the past and the official icons have made it onto the device John Chen was holding when introducing the Classic and Passport at the annual shareholder meeting, but we now have a video of the retail demo made by BlackBerry to promote the new feature.

Are you getting excited about that feature? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. Hard to get excited about something that we didn’t see…but sure, that would also mean a tablet would be possible without much compromise.
What would it be working off of, WiFi, bluetooth or through the web???

  2. Or is it just another… BlackBerry Link?

  3. Sounds more like a “bridge 2” solution.. it has potential. How about a desktop stand alone bbm version? That will be nice too..

    • Looks like they are trying not to make Microsoft’s mistake of having too many devices get the same message at the same time, if the computer isn’t near the primary mobile device, it won’t access your accounts and information.
Skype, when someone calls me and I’m answering through my phone, my computer rings as well…
Makes sense, it all comes down to execution and speed.

  4. I’m too excited about it if it will only be for enterprise users. I hope it will be available for the consumer BlackBerry user and it should be free. That would be recompense for the ditching of the PlayBook.

  5. If I unserstand this correctly, the BlackBerry Blend feature – which is coming in BB 10.3 allows you link with a computer desktop or tablet – ios, Android, Windows in the same way the BlackBerry bridges with the PlayBook. If that’s the case, and includes internet access, it would another great feature BlackBerry can show off among the long list of great features coming.
