BlackBerry’s VP of Global Alliances and Ecosystems Marty Mallick Leaves As BlackBerry Focuses on Enterprise

Some of you may know Marty Mallick as the guy behind bringing consumer and top shelf apps to BlackBerry 10. He delivered on some big deals and lost a few he promised. Now it looks like BlackBerry’s move to focus on Enterprise apps and have all the rest of the apps come from the Amazon in the form of Android apps. That probably left Marty with a very small budget and very little demand to get companies like EA and Gameloft to create native games and other deals for branded apps. On the other hand he was just got his VP role for Global Alliances and Ecosystems in February of this year…

BlackBerry confirmed to my buddy JT @N4BB that Marty has left the company by stating that:

“We can confirm that Marty Mallick has made the decision to leave BlackBerry as the company realigns the Global Alliances and Ecosystem group to focus more on enterprise application development. We are grateful to Marty for his contributions to BlackBerry and wish him well.”
