BlackBerry World Music & Video Services Closing Next Month

Appworld

BlackBerry made a bold move towards using the Amazon Appstore alongside the BlackBerry World app store on BlackBerry 10.3. This is going to bring top shelf apps like Groupon, Netflix, Pinterest, Candy Crush Saga and Minecraft to BlackBerry 10 instantly. In that move they also announced that they are going to shutter the music and video services in BlackBerry World in favor of third party apps and services offered through BlackBerry World and the Amazon Appstore. They will still have previously downloaded content through MyWorld so nobody will be losing any purchased content like last time.

On top of that BlackBerry is promising a new Amazon Appstore promotion to welcome in the change. This is a very interesting move considering the fact that Amazon is currently working on delivering their own branded Android phone…
