BlackBerry Q30 Windermere Photos & Specs Leaked

Windermere-front-700x933 The guys over at N4BB got their hands on more specific information of the un-announced BlackBerry Q30 AKA Windermere. The new details confirm some of what has been said before and clarify a few other rumored details. The device as you can see from the images keeps the volume control buttons on the right and features an upgraded camera at 13 MP in the back. Some things may not be final such as the back casing of the device which is currently plastic may change to something similar to what is on the current Q10.

  • 480 DPI before was said to be 435
  • 3GB RAM with Adreno 330 OpenGL & Quad-core Snapdragon MSM8974 processor

  • “How does the word prediction work? Three columns will appear on the screen as you type”
  • Top and bottom speakers like the Z30
  • Charging port is at the bottom

Right now I find the device to look at bit weird because of the rectangular shape and the smaller keyboard at the bottom. one thing that is definitely word looking forward to on this new device is the specs and power that is packing. What are your first impressions on this device so far based on what you now know?

  1. Wouldn’t you swipe right to left to delete a word, rather than left to right?

  2. Well, in my view a new Q needs to be brought forward with a minimun 5 inch screen but still with a qwerty board . Customers today will settle for nothing less than a large screen . I personally use a Samsung Mega 6.3 and love this size . Also have myriad BB’ s….9900, 9000 and a Torch. Still the standard for email and other messaging are these qwerty blackberrys . They cannot be beat in this regard together with the Pin feature .
However all these above are sadly lacking in the screen size dept. It seems that it would be impossible to go back to one of these models to use as a sole instrument when one has tried out the so called Phablets .
The future will see basically everyone worldwide with 6 inch screens realistically in short order . It’ s happening as we speak now here in Thailand . The Apple stores are basically empty due to antiquated product . The Samsung shops on the other hand are booming with customers seeking the much larger handsets .
If Blackberry is to succeed they need to realize this and quickly bring to market something of this nature , yet retaining the venerable analogue qwerty keyboard .
