Update: No More Headless Application Limit In The Background Limit!

When BlackBerry 10 first launched, one limit for hardcore users was the limited 8 applications that can be ran simultaneously in the background. Well, for these hardcore users, this limitation has been removed with the latest OS 10.2.1 update! Not that I run so many applications at one go now, with headless applications, but every removal of limitation is always good!

UPDATE: Apparently, when BlackBerry 10’s headless application first launched, BlackBerry put a limit to how many of these headless applications can run at a go. Now, with the latest OS 10.2.1 update, they have removed the limit of how many headless applications that can run in the background. I first mentioned that the limit was for the 8 “windowed” application, which Michael Clewey quickly let us know that this was a mistake on twitter!

So go ahead and update, but do not forget to back up!

  1. Ok Kid,come again?

    HEADLESS APPS> Unlimited
    Active Frames> 8 ?

    Please confirm both

  2. What does Headless Applications have to do with Active Open Windows? I believe the update addresses the max 8 limit of Active windows, not headless apps. Correct me if I am wrong.

  3. That’s what I thought too, Active Frames are 8, but I did not expect the headless apps to be unlimited. I was expecting maybe a bigger limit yes, but not totally unlimited.
