BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 Releasing By End Of Year?

Last week, BlackBerry announced that Adobe Air support will be removed from the BlackBerry OS, starting with OS 10.3.1 and above. However, they failed to mention when it was going to come. Lucas spotted that they had this additional sentence which might just tell us when!

According to the Adobe Air End of Support notice FAQ, BlackBerry states the following for the question ‘When is the Adobe AIR runtime being removed?’:

We expect BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 to be commercially available toward the end of the year. BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 and above will not support the Adobe AIR runtime.

Have have your BlackBerry Air applications been updated to other formats yet? 🙂

  1. Yeah but it’s never confirmed till a statement comes out from BlackBerry. Speaking of which, a rumored 10.2.2 is on production servers but 10.3 is set for release in May 2014…so which comes first?

  2. At this point, I care about the 10.3 update, should be massive with many improvements. Hopefully by May 2014. And lets move BlackBerry, where on earth is the Z3?

    • I was reading that they were taking preorders on the Z3 in India. Here’s looking forward to 10.3.

  3. I’m looking forward to both 10.2.2 and 10.3.1. I will be happy with either release.

  4. Any which way we look at this, year end is to definitely to far away to remain competitive. They need to drive this to be released sooner.

  5. 10.3 comming this June
