US President Will Continue to Carry a BlackBerry

BlackBerry President

There were some rumors swirling around on Friday that BlackBerry was potentially losing the White House as a customer as they tested out Samsung and LG devices. Now the Washington Post is reporting that the Executive Office of the President is NOT involved in any pilot program testing non-BlackBerry devices. In short that means that BlackBerry will continue to get the free advertising of having the US president using their device… for now. Here is to hoping John Chen’s recent visit instilled some new hope in BlackBerry’s government customers in their future direction.

  1. Well, someone made a chunk of change with that stupid rumor! :( The stock market is badly in need of a major revamp. It’s now driven by rumors, day traders, and large financial institutions – it’s not for long term growth and for funding R&D as it was originally.

  2. Even if Obama decides to ditch the BlackBerry the US government will still be using BES to manage the security on the device. BES supports BlackBerry, iOS, Android, and soon WP, they’d be idiots not to use it.

  3. Not every government job requires a BlackBerry. Let the PAs use their shiny toys to gossip over the phone 😉
