BlackBerry Confirms BES 10 Cloud is Launching Shortly

We have been hearing quite a bit about the BES 10 cloud hosted version since BlackBerry first mentioned it and then rolled out two beta tests. Now BlackBerry’s enterprise head in India has confirmed that the platform will roll out shortly. Supposedly BlackBerry plans on hitting the small and medium business markets with this hosted version to support BYOD. They went on to confirm that 1,000 of the 30,000 BES 10 installations have happened in India in the last 12 months and BlackBerry is expecting a 50% quarterly growth in India.

The BlackBerry exec also confirmed that the first Foxconn phone, the BlackBerry Z3, will be priced much lower than current BlackBerry phones.

  1. Hopefully they come out with this service ASAP.
BES10 has been growing all over the world. Even Australia for example, Canada, USA even believe it or not. I can see that 30,000 BES10 installations have grown by quite a bit under John Chen.

  2. i have interviewed John Sims @ the Mobile World Congress 2014 last month, and when i asked him about BES 10 in th cloud, he answered me that nothing will happen till the end of this year.
They are all focused on BES 12 !!

    • That’s interesting. I find BES 10 Cloud to be too limited, so maybe they’ll be able to have feature parity with the on-premise version of BES 12 by the end of the year.
