BlackBerry’s CEO Calls iPhone Users “Wall Huggers” & More

There is quite a bit of truth in the latest interview with BlackBerry CEO John Chen in an interview with Yahoo. He took a jab at iPhone users by calling them “Wall Huggers” due to subpar battery life. I know a few iPhone users who carry around a huge portable battery just to make it through the day. Chen went on the record saying that “I call you guys wall huggers” always searching for an outlet. He cracked quite a few other jokes that show he still managed to keep his humor even under the stress of the job.

  1. I guess they wanted to replicate the iPhone experience as closely as possible when they designed the Z10 and gave it a 6-8 hours battery life. 🙂

  2. Yup the Z10 was a different animal

  3. Friendly rivalry, I love it! There’s nothing wrong with a little moxie, it’s like saying “Try our products they’re better.” PS: please BlackBerry add the ability to swipe away messages using the bottom bezel – half swipe: one message; full swipe: delete all messages and keep the long press option to select which messages to delete; closing active Frames – half swipe: one Active Frame; full swipe: close all Active Frames.

  4. The Z10 should have had Minimum, the same battery size as the Q5, if not larger. Not sure what the previous management was thinking. But turning off some radio frequencies not being used will save the battery a lot. Wifi for one comes to mind, turn it off when not in use, or it will continue to search until your phone is dead.
