Qualcomm Teams Up with QNX at Mobile World Congress 2014

Qualcomm technologies just gave BlackBerry another shot in the arm with their partnership on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive Solutions powered by the QNX CAR platform. They have been demoing the new platform at Mobile World Congress this week on a modified Mercedes Benz CLA45 AMG to show off the latest Snapdragon Automotive Solutions. Features include:

  • 3D navigation with points of interest and voice prompts
  • Advanced multimedia streaming
  • Flexible multi-modal user experience
  • HD video decoding capabilities
  • Smartphone-to-vehicle integration over USB and Wi-Fi
  • Automatic speech recognition for hands-free calls and navigation.
  • Over-the-air software updates over LTE
  • Reconfigurable digital instrument cluster and more

    So, is AT&T going to be part of this or not? Or is it going by phone hot spot?
    I’m guessing cars will be connected to home WiFi and doing updates and downloads and all sorts of stuff…
    This has become very interesting.
