Its nice to see BlackBerry not sitting on their laurels with BBM. They just announced that Stickers are coming shortly to BBM and are currently in limited beta. This seems to be BlackBerry’s first attempt to monetize BBM and allows users to purchase sticker packs in collections of 20-25 that relate to a theme or character. These will be like CosCat, Gilbert’s Tales, Bubble Bot, and more. There are also characters from TV and movies along with a free BBM sticker pack with larger emoticons.
The big question is what the difference is between emoticons and stickers. Stickers are “bolder more beautiful images that you can add right in the chats.” In other words think of them as very expressive emoticons that you can purchase.
I think BlackBerry may be on to something with this one. They just need to keep on plowing forward!

Lovin’ them stickers! Lets add this and make the app smoother. BBM is gonna be great 😀
