BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, had a frank talk with Re/Code before the weekend that is definitely worth reading. First he mentioned that “I think I am going to sell the server first,” Chen said. “The server will lead the device sale.” This is in terms of converting BES 10 companies trying the server to stick with the platform. He also said that “I’m abnormal” in terms of not wanting a safe easy job but rather paints himself as the surgeon treating BlackBerry (the patient). He went on to state that “If you are an emergency room doctor, you should not be afraid of the blood,” and that surgery is not without its challenges.
Either way its a nice and frank view of the companies leader and his vision for using BES 10 to revive the company. Check out the full interview here.
