An Easy Way To Give Charity in 2014 With AmazonSmile (Resolutions)

Editors Note: Originally posted on our sister site AndroidEffect. Happy New Year!

I really hope all of you had a happy new year and are enjoying a fresh new year with family and friends. I know many of you made resolutions for this year that you may or may not keep but I thought I would publicize another one you should consider adding to the list. Amazon has a program they launched in October called AmazonSmile that makes it super easy to give charity by doing what many of you already do.

This AmazonSmile program automatically donates 0.5% of all eligible purchases to a US charity of the buyers choosing. There is no limit to what Amazon will give and there are almost a million charities you can choose as a recipient for your contribution.

All you have to do is start shopping at Amazon by first going to and select your charity. From then on all you have to do is go to to make your purchases. There is even a Google Chrome extension that automatically changes all your Amazon browsing to AmazonSmile.

Let us know what your best resolutions are for 2014 and have a happy new year!

  1. Thanks for pointing this out I didn’t know about it.

  2. An easy way to do good that costs you nothing

  3. This really cool of Amazon to do and the best thing is it doesn’t cost me anything and I can still give. I support the NASV Veterans Support Center. You can go right to their website and get yourself registered and Google Chrome has this feature that will direct you back to the cause you support. This is really cool.
