BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen Lays Out His Plan in a CNBC Op-Ed

BlackBerry’s CEO laid out some broad steps for his plan to turn around BlackBerry in a CNBC Op-Ed today. In it he once again points to how he has focused on what BlackBerry will be today and in the future. This focus is clearly on enterprise and government growth along with BBM and QNX. He highlights how BlackBerry is still the leader from all MDM’s by far and how it dominates regulated industries.

According to Chen:

I believe BlackBerry has a clear lane ahead of us to create new trails as a nimbler, more agile competitor.

The journey has just begun.

Check out the whole Op-Ed here at CNBC. Here is to hoping this direction is exactly what BlackBerry needs to thrive. Hopefully they still include some benefits for regular BlackBerry consumers but sadly once again there is no mention of the prosumer or consumer.

  1. Chen is making his intentions very clear. This is his form of marketing. He’s marketing to the corporate world; CEOs, COOs, CIOs, etc. Corporate customers watch news and business news networks. They don’t spend much time watching the crap that most of us consumers watch, which is where Chen would be putting his face if he cared about the consumer market [at this time.] He’s letting the movers and shakers of the corporate world know that BlackBerry is here to stay and can still be valuable to their businesses.

  2. He is definitely going full hog on the enterprise and government market. I think he sees it as their best chance
