BlackBerry Has 3X The Enterprise Customers of Good, AirWatch, & MobileIron Combined

In his Op-Ed in CNBC, BlackBerry’s CEO John Chen laid out a very important statistic. He said in no uncertain terms that “When it comes to enterprise, we’re still the leader. Don’t be fooled by the competition’s rhetoric claiming to be more secure or having more experience than BlackBerry.” He went on to say that BlackBerry has a global enterprise customer base of over 80,000. He really set the record straight when he stated that BlackBerry has three times the number of customers compared to Good, AirWatch, and MobileIron combined!

In short BlackBerry is not only dominating in enterprise they are killing in terms of market share. Where they are really hurting is managing other devices like iOS and Android. That is exactly where they are trying to catch up and become a more nimble company.

The regulated space is another place where BlackBerry has a strong plan. They are the only MDM currently approved by the US Department of Defense though that is set to change shortly. They also have all seven of the G7 governments as customers.

  1. BlackBerry 10 phones and the PlayBook are the only devices that have the “ATO” BlackBerry Awarded “Authority to Operate” on U.S. Department of Defense Networks.

No other mobile platform has this award, nor will they be able to get such a certification due to the strict securing requirements.
