BlackBerry Co-Founder Mike Lazaridis Sold $26 Million in Shares

DevCon 2010

The latest buzz on the street is that BlackBerry Co-Founder Mike Lazaridis has sold about $26 million in BlackBerry shares through two transactions on Monday. That is 3.5 million BlackBerry shares at $7.55 and $7.63 through a numbered investment holding company. That same company was part of the bid Lazaridis made with fellow co-founder Doug Fregin to take back control of BlackBerry.

Keep in mind this is nowhere near all the shares the Mike has so it could be as simple as him taking a loss for tax purposes at the end of the year. Only time will tell…

  1. It’s only a matter of time before he says goodbye to his baby like his other co-founder. I hate to say this but this might mean BlackBerry is finally moving in the right direction…

  2. Yeah my guess is he will exit. On the other hand they are following his lead of taking BlackBerry to an enterprise focus
