BlackBerry has revealed that they have cancelled two low end BlackBerry 10 models they had planned. Specifically they filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that they made the decision to “cancel plans to launch two devices to mitigate the identified inventory risk.” The Wall Street Journal confirmed that the two cancelled devices were the Café and Kopi which were low cost devices aimed at the emerging markets. These will most likely be taken over by Foxconn and their new 5 year agreement with BlackBerry along with their upcoming Jakarta phone.
Supposedly BlackBerry is still working on two higher end devices for the enterprise market that are codenamed Ontario and Windermere. Lets hope there is some consumer love in those new devices!
