BlackBerry Sheds Two More Executives in Latest Shakeup

Z10 Morning

BlackBerry is really determined to get rid of the old guard that let them get into their current situation. According to the Wall Street Journal, Rick Costanzo, will be leaving the company by early next year and Chris Wormald, head of BlackBerry M&A strategy, will be gone by the end of this month. Supposedly John Chen had everyone in a Town Hall meeting when he took over at told them that:

"Things are going to get worse before they get better," and that, "Not all of you will be here"

Expect to hear more details this Friday during BlackBerry’s earnings call

  1. Wow! It’s really not nice to tell everyone that “not all of you will be here”. That’s a shot in the arm for the best people to start looking elsewhere – definitely not healthy for any company to lose it’s best and brightest talent.

  2. If the talent they have now was worth anything they wouldn’t be in the situation they are now.
