Android Developers Can Hide Back Bar on BlackBerry OS 10.2.1

Back Bar

Its nice to see BlackBerry upping their game for Android support in OS 10.2.1. Now they have confirmed that they have thrown in another bonus for Android developers testing out BlackBerry 10 support. In OS 10.2.1 developers can code in their android app to hide the back button bar. If a devs app or game does not use the back button this is a nice bonus. Users can still do it themselves on a per app basis but now devs can do it out the gate.

If you are interested in how its done check out the details here. Also of interest is BlackBerry posting a replay of the Android Runtime for BlackBerry 10 Live Event the had recently.

  1. How about doing more to get developers to make native BlackBerry 10 apps?

    • Speaking of which, who’s eligible for the $ 10K if your applications don’t make that much in BlackBerry World?
