Users Reporting Issues with BlackBerry 10 Sensors Starting This Week

IMG_20130532 IMG_20130529

Yesterday we all of a sudden heard from multiple users who were having issues with their BlackBerry 10 sensors. Our own Jay is having issues with his orientation and light sensors. I was trying to dig into this from my end but my buddy Adam @CrackBerry also noticed this sudden influx of sensor issues for users on OS 10.2.

Let us know what you are seeing on your device and your OS version. Check out this thread on CrackBerry where they are trying to correlate the reason.

  1. Same problem here and it’s not related to software installation or reboots or any of the free apps as assumed.
The problem is also not carrier related since it’s so worldwide spread.
I don’t know how something that bad can happen to all devices at the same time but I think IMHO that this is a BlackBerry server/service issue.
Some people reported that as long as they turned all radios off and restarted their phones no problems occurred…not quite a solution if you ask me.

  2. Yup. Still experiencing issues here. I have checked out the CB thread and came across this link to the official Support Forums:

Apparently updating the Android runtime to a certain one posted by JSanders ( solves the issue. I haven’t tried it yet, but if anyone figures it out, please let us know.

  3. A reboot will now solve this issue. I’m really curious what the real issue was and how they solved it. Props to Todd for letting me know that Clewley posted about this.
