BlackBerry Makes 200+ Flashlight Apps Redundant With OS 10.2.1

You may have heard already that BlackBerry has added customizable “quick settings” menus in the new OS 10.2.1 leak. This allows you to add and rearrange the items in the menu you get when swiping down on the homescreen. What I was glad to see as an option was a flashlight! I know this sounds like a small feature but it works easily and you can turn it on with a click. It even works when the screen is turned off.

I wonder what the other 200 Flashlight apps in BlackBerry World have planned.

  1. About time…

  2. So will I be able to add to those quick settings turning on and off WiFi hotspot?

  3. One lol isn’t enough for this…

I really hope nobody bought any of those. xD

  4. Great feature, but I think I’ll still use my Night Ports app, as it’s more than just a flashlight.

  5. Yeah, Night Ports is just handy in general. When I first d/l’ed Ports I said I’d never use it but I do just about every night.

  6. I have a flashlight app with strobing feature and another with a compass :) I’ll still keep them.

    • Just hope you didn’t pay for those. I’m all for supporting devs.. But some apps should never be paid apps. One of those is a flashlight app..
