BlackBerry Fleshes Out Custom Contact Notifications in 10.2.1 – Still No Volume…

BlackBerry has made yet another step closer to legacy devices with the latest OS leak. This time we are focusing on fleshing out the custom contact notifications that BlackBerry finally introduced in 10.1. This is something users have been using on BlackBerry 7 and older devices for years so its nice to see it return. Sadly BlackBerry is still holding back on us and does not let us set volume for applications or custom contact notifications. That is a real shame but hopefully it is still coming… For now you can set notifications separately for phone calls, email, BBM, SMS, and one broad category of “other messaging.”

  1. if on silent can you override a call from your wife to always ring?

  2. Yes the exception overrides

  3. Does anyone know if there is functionality built into OS10.2.1 that will allow attachments to be accessible on calendar entries?

    • Hmm haven’t seen that feature… yet. Keep in mind, this isn’t the final build. There’s a chance that other new features might be added in for the final release. So psyched! Loving this QNX powered phone of mine. Keeps getting better with each update 😀
