Verizon Gets (Potentially) Limited Launch Exclusive on BlackBerry Z30

IMG_00000378

I have some good news and some bad news for those of you wanting a BlackBerry Z30 in the US. Sadly I learned from BlackBerry during a briefing today that the device is a Verizon exclusive at launch. That means only Verizon will have it at launch through that does not preclude other carriers from picking it up after. The launch is happening any day now which is pretty exciting and the Verizon Z30 is packing some sweet Qi wireless charging. With the Paratek automatically tuning antenna it also gets some great reception on Verizon for voice and data.

I am hearing rumors that Verizon received the exclusive since they were the only carrier to step up and properly carry the device. Hopefully other carriers will jump on board afterwards but no word on that now. We should have Z30 unlock codes shortly in our store so hopefully that will open up the door to some grey market Z30’s until then. I am really hoping Verizon has some coordinated marketing for the Z30 at launch. It is set to drop any day now and I have yet to see any marketing.

  1. Thanks, well at least we’ll have it in the states. The thing about Verizon, they nickel and dime you; just wait on Sprint with my 9650

  2. I thought Sprint was going to get it, maybe later, perhaps.
