BlackBerry has had a huge boost over the years by being the phone of choice for secure conversations in the US government and even by the president. Now with all of the latest NSA leaks we have countries in Europe shocked that the US has been spying on everyone. While I would be shocked if they were not trying to do the same thing I found an interesting new angle in the whole debacle. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been having some serious talks with President Obama (via Mirror.co.uk) about tapping her phone and she is regularly spotted with her new BlackBerry Z10. This Z10 is outfitted with Secusite encryption to ensure she cannot have her phone tapped.
It sort of makes me wonder if BlackBerry has an even stronger play in the government security market due to these leaks. What do you think?
