BlackBerry Co-founder Mike Lazaridis came out of the woodwork finally today. He stated that he now has an 8% share in BlackBerry up from 5.7%. He has also entered into an agreement with fellow co-founder Douglas Fregin to “explore the possibility of submitting a potential joint bid.” for BlackBerry.
Should be interesting to see what happens with this now that we are 3 weeks away from Fairfax closing…

That is interesting considering that the co-founder hasn’t really been active with BB as long as I can remember or at least not in public. It be funny if the company went back to the original founders but not sure if they have what it needs to rescue the company.

This sounds better than BlackBerry breaking up their company into separate parts.

The real question is, will he do what’s right this time for the company???

You know it’s funny, this article appears only 2-3 days after I happened to be on the phone with this hair salon on Waterloo who happened to mention to me that Mike was actually in her salon at that very moment getting his hair done. Well one thing led to the next, I professed how BlackBerry is the only phone worth having on this planet etc. (meanwhile she said “Oh we’re all Iphone people around here!”), and asked her if she would give him my contact info as I would love to voice things for BlackBerry – for free! And now 3 days later an article about him wanting to maybe make a bid on the company, hopefully so that he can get me to voice things for them! I must say his hair DOES look smart in this photo…
