It seems like BlackBerry is finally getting the feedback I have been giving them for awhile. Paul on the BlackBerry DevBlog announced the release of Cloudy Pics which is the first of what they are calling Showcase Sample Apps. In other words these are not the one trick sample apps BlackBerry has given us in the past but rather fully blown apps that are designed how BlackBerry thinks they should be. That means they are actually useful real world examples that follow UI guidelines and other production app requirements. This first app, Cloudy Pics, Has the camera tied into cloud storage like Box and DropBox. Kudos to Paul on this initiative.
On top of Cloudy Pics we have our buddy Chad also posting up some boilerplate apps for easily building a “Built for BlackBerry” experience app. This gives WebWorks and Cascades developers a way to quickly figure out how a built for BlackBerry app is supposed to look.
