BlackBerry pushed out an update yesterday that finally gave some new life to PlayBook users with BlackBerry 10 devices. It is not full bridge support we had on BlackBerry 7 with email but it is BBM. Hopefully this is just the beginning…
BlackBerry Bridge v3.2 adds support for BBM™, letting users utilize their BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet to chat with BBM contacts on their BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
The new BlackBerry Bridge v3.2 for BlackBerry 10 smartphones adds the ability to access BBM on a user’s BlackBerry 10 smartphone to text chat.
In addition to BBM chatting, BlackBerry Bridge v3.2 also lets users:
- Use their BlackBerry 10 smartphone as a remote control for their PlayBook tablet
- Open websites, files, and media on their tablet’s larger display
- Share their smartphone’s cellular Internet connection with their tablet (no carrier tethering or mobile hotspot service plan is required)
- View, edit, and attach files on their tablet that are saved on their smartphone or media card
