Citrix Receiver Hits BlackBerry 10 With Technology Preview Edition

Citrix

Citrix has brought their slick Citrix Receiver solution to BlackBerry 10 after a successful launch on the PlayBook. I am not sure what took them so long but now it is in what they call “technology preview” which essentially means public beta. It thankfully works on both the Z10 AND Q10 and offers the same functionality as the PlayBook along with the addition of Web Interface 5.4 and StoreFront 2.0. There are a few limitations currently including:

  • Resolution is limited to the capabilities of the device
  • No rotation
  • Pinch and zoom functionality only within the published resource

  1. Well, how do you like that. I was having lots of trouble trying to sideload this. Actually, the sideload worked fine but I could never establish a connection due to a security error. I finally did get it working with 10.2 but it’s nice to have a real version. It’s kind of difficult to work with on the Z10 screen. As big as it is, you still need fingers that are only 5 pixels wide in order to use a remoting app like this one seemlessly. Great to have for emergency situations, though.
    Thanks for the update.
