BlackBerry Gives Developer Site a Makeover – FINALLY Testing Out Documentation Comments

BlackBerry Developer-000512

BlackBerry announced a nice redesign of their developer microsites across the board. One of the more interesting additions is something I asked their documentation team to implement over 2 years ago. They are testing out the ability for developers to leave comments on the documentation and other pages. This is something that many opensource projects like PHP have and is very useful! Many times its just the ability to add a little wisdom on how you got it to work for others to use in the future. Sadly BlackBerry is testing it out with just the Adobe AIR microsite so it will probably see very little use.

On top of that BlackBerry has merged the Native and Cascades website under Native. I am not sure why it was separate in the first place. They also split off the PlayBook into its own site along with legacy BBOS. Check it out here.

  1. The blog post was prematurely posted and the changes aren’t up yet.

  2. They could have started with Webworks…

  3. Better late than never. This should have been done a while ago.
