BlackBerry has confirmed multiple times that they are collapsing the management layers as they transform the company. That continues with three more execs confirmed leaving with BlackBerry telling CBC.ca that “We are in the second phase of our transformation plan where we will be assessing our organization — from top to bottom — to ensure we have the right people in the right roles with the right skill sets to drive new opportunities in mobile computing.” I have heard a similar message from BlackBerry employees where there are just too many managers for each employee. Here are the latest to be downsized:
- Doug Kozak, vice-president, corporate information technology operations.
- Carmine Arabia, senior vice-president, global manufacturing and supply chain.
- Graeme Whittington, vice-president, service operations
Hopefully all of this restructuring allowing BlackBerry to be more agile and step on the gas for product releases.
