BlackBerry A10 Images & 2 New BlackBerry 10 Camera Modes Confirmed in Latest 10.2 Builds

Many of you know Ofutur from the comments on BerryReview and know he loves to tinker. He let me know that he was poking around the latest 10.2 OS build and found some interesting stuff. First of all he found official renders of the BlackBerry A10 Aristo from the help files. On top of that he spotted 2 new camera modes including High Speed and Panorama mode. Hopefully those are software features and not hardware so they come to current devices.

Camera Modes

The help renders also show a side loading SIM and MicroSD slot that is under the back cover. This is nice to see since the battery seems to be built into the device making these slots hot swappable (hopefully). Should be interesting to see how that plays out!

Kudos to Ofutur for the finds! He posted them up on CB forums if you want to discuss them: Camera Modes, Renders.

  1. Very excited about a panorama mode for the camera. Bigger news than the A10…

    • Totally true. And not just as a great pun.

    • Yeah, I’ve been searching for a decent Android app to sideload for panoramas and haven’t come up with anything great yet. Would love to have that on the Z10. Although it has its own awesomeness, I still think I got better picture off my 9800 Torch.

  2. Bad news about the removable battery though, the help files mention a back cover. Help files for the Z10 and Q10 mention a battery door.
    Maybe there are different models…

Also, there are a few other goodies in the camera app like 60fps video recording and face focus.

All these modifications in the camera app make me think that the A series is maybe simply the multimedia series and not necessarily the “flagship” series.

  3. With the massive screen size and camera features that wouldn’t be suprising. It does look like its been made for multimedia. But I think it’d make a good flagship too, with people being in love with media consumption and all.

  4. The camera has to be really awesome! Light years ahead of the Z10. The Lumia series as well as Samsung’s top phones are getting some spiffy 14 MP camreras with optical image stabilization, very fast f-stops, and lots of digital wizardry like taking high speed photos (120 fps), panoramas, digital editing, etc.

  5. My concern is that the specs just don’t seem to have enough wow factor to draw in the Android crowd – especially when these devices will also have BBM. I hope BlackBerry beefs up these specs up before it’s released.
