Take CrackBerry Kevins Mega Community Survey and Help Give BlackBerry Feedback

 Kevin Mega Survey

My buddy Kevin over at CrackBerry is heading to BlackBerrys headquarters next week for BlackBerrys Annual General Meeting of Shareholders. A few friends pointed out to me that he put out a survey to poll the BlackBerry user community on what is important to them so he can relay it while in Waterloo. I think that is a worthy undertaking and hope you will take the time to answer his 41 question survey. He is even throwing in a chance to win a $100 Best Buy gift card. Either way this goes hand in hand with us advocating that BlackBerry start responding to what their actual customers (and not carriers) want and need from them.

Check out the survey here and let us know how it goes.

  1. I’ve said this a long time ago, but I suspect a core problem at BlackBerry is that they view _carriers_ as being their customers, not the end-users themselves. This results in a lot of frustrating choices in how updates are rolled out, what features are enabled/disabled, and (more importantly) how they gauge satisfaction and collect feedback.

  2. For live multimedia communications, with BBM rolling on all platforms, BB should offer low cost and best in class voip and video. Best codecs for narrow band and wideband must be supported including silk, G.722, for Skype compatibility. Echo cancellation, speakerphone, push to talk, must be as good as Skype, as well ascapable of direct outward dialing.

  3. The key too success for Blackberry will be: 1. Step up their Maketing game.
    2. Continue to innovate and make sure customers are getting the updates.
    3. Get the major developers on board.
    4. Keep all promisies/deadlnes.
