Leaked BlackBerry OS For Some Z10 Models With "Forever" Gmail Retrieve & More (Q10 Too!)

Leaked OS

Brian pointed out to me that Balenax @CBForums has put together a download of OS from the BlackBerry Z10 SLT100-2 which also supposedly works on the SLT-100-3 and SLT100-4. It also works for the Q10 SQN100-3 but you have to use the radio without GPS so there are compromises. This new version finally brings the ability to set forever email retreival for non-exchange email accounts like Gmail. It also adds a simple numeric password option.

Check out the download here or discuss it in the original thread

  1. There is a real Q10 version available now.
    Backups are not properly restored.
You only get the forever option for IMAP if you start from scratch.

Still crossing my fingers for 10.2 to be a big jump forward in terms of productivity.

  2. Tough call: should a disgruntled AT&T customer who’s fed up with not getting 10.1 pounce on this?

  3. Can someone explain what this “forever” option is? Does that give you access to all of your emails ever instead of just the last 30 days?

    • You hit the nail on the head. They are kept on your device forever and don’t roll off

      • That’s very nice but can’t they just put back the legacy functionality to allow you to search server side? I don’t need all of my emails from the beginning of time cluttering up my device.
