T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling App Shows Up in App World for OS 10.2 Beta Users (Not Working Yet)

Wi-Fi Calling Wi-Fi Calling2

If you needed any more proof that T-Mobile was working on bringing Wi-Fi calling to the BlackBerry 10 platform as they promised then look at this as a sign. robsteve on CB Forums (via CrackBerry) spotted a new T-Mobile app for Wi-Fi calling while he had the OS 10.2 developer beta installed. Sadly the app does not seem to work yet on the beta but my guess is that will get cleared up before T-Mobile rolls out the update later this year. I know quite a few users who are holding off for the Wi-Fi calling support due to spotty reception so its great to see it in the works.

  1. The app says by Research in Motion, not T-Mobile

    • Yup the functionality is usually developed by BlackBerry

      • Any ideas/guesses when this will be available? I was very close to giving up on T-Mo and going to Verizon, but then I heard this news over at CB. Now I am considering waiting… I hope that it is available within the next 2 months.

I’d hate to switch away from T-Mo (customer of about 8 years) because I’d hate to monitor every little data transfer…

  2. Go TMO!
Holding on to my 9900 till the software upgrade appears.
They promised to reduce my data service/$20/month, which will offset the cost of the Q10
Plus, they’re willing to give me $100 for my 9900 trade in
    Net result: FREE Q10!
    Can’t wait

  3. My guess is within the next three months. Not sure if it is dependent on OS 10.2 but it seems so.
