Updated: AT&T FINALLY Rolling Out OS for the BlackBerry Z10

UPDATE: It seems like the 10.1 update came out a little before schedule for AT&T even though it is way overdue. We got the following statement officially from BlackBerry:

“Earlier today BlackBerry OS 10.1 for the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone on AT&T was posted in error. We are working closely with AT&T to provide the official BlackBerry OS 10.1 update soon. If you are an AT&T customer with a BlackBerry Z10 smartphone and you received a software update notification please disregard.”

Those of you with AT&T BlackBerry Z10’s who did not load up leaked OS builds will be happy to know that our carrier has finally joined the program. As usual AT&T is the latecomer to the game but this time even the notoriously late Verizon beat them out. Either way you can now download the official OS for the Z10. It packs better battery life along with an HDR camera, PIN Messaging, and the ability to download OS 10.1+ apps like Skype.

So what are you waiting for? Head to your settings and check for updates!

  1. Got me real excited for a minute there. Still says I have the latest software. Looks like I’m going to be hitting that button all day today 🙂
Anyway, lessons learned to keep in mind for 10.2:
    * Maybe avoid disappointment and load the leaked version so I’m not “last in line.”
    * Don’t bother checking for updates every day. Either way, BerryReview will know before I do 🙂

  2. I hit the button first thing this morning and got it finally. See a couple changes but haven’t had enough time to ‘play’ with it. Glad it’s here though.

  3. Once this does become available to me, looking for a ton more updates as mentioned in my forum post such as better sound profile management, Mark Prior Opened, real holster mode like the olden days, etc.

  4. It was pulled after a couple hours.

  5. Wow, I just read about AT&T pulling the update. Any other day and I would not have checked so early in the day for an update. For once I got lucky. Richard Petty said once “I’d rather be lucky than good any day”. For me this was true yesterday. I am sorry to hear so many missed out. I know AT&T’s phone lines have to be ringing off the hook with ticked off customers but I really wonder if they a damn.

  6. Yeah they sadly pulled it shortly thereafter
