The rumor mill spins yet again! Previously, BlackBerry announced back at BlackBerry Live that it will launch BBM onto both iPhone and Android. Now, apparently, rumors have it that it will be available on these platforms starting 27 June! And addition, the guys over at bberryblog posted the photo above which allegedly shows BBM running on a iPhone.

What do you guys think of this? Sound off!

  1. Hope so. Will invite all my friends to join!

  2. What an awesome message that sends to those of us who bought Playbooks to help them test drive QNX and seed App World with apps that would be BB10 compatible.

Sorry you can’t use native BBM on your 7″ tablet but if you buy an iPad Mini or Nexus 7 we’ve got you covered!

    • BB Messenger as of now will only work on phones, not tablets – (PlayBook, Ipad, Android etc). When PlayBook finally gets the BB10 OS upgrade – hopefully soon) it will then have natvie BBM.

  3. i’m not sure how much I believe that. maybe beta in June 27th? but knowing BB i feel like it would be the end of summer. sooner the better though!

  4. Sure, and it will look like legacy BBM instead of BB10’s BBM.

    I don’t buy that.

  5. No one noticed it’s BBM for OS7 in the picture? I’m pretty sure they’d make it more similar to the new BB10 BBM

  6. A picture doesn’t really give any credibility to this particular story anyways.

  7. Looks pretty legit to me, and not that disimilar to BB10, it has both the Channels and the Updates icons which are fairly new options in BBM. It does not have the crosscut menu of the BB10 so all the option icons are in the screen in plain view, what I would expect for an iphone app as you can’t swipe to get more options.

Finally can talk to other people in semi privacy, great move for Blackberry!

  8. It could be totally legit your right, but it could be so easily made up. It looks just like BBM channels for OS7 devices (which is available alongside BB10 channels)

There’s really no need to swype on the BB10 BBM anyways, theres the side menus, but you can just click them like buttons. And other apps for iPhone like Wunderlist are able to swype to the side to reveal options, so it’s not like it’s not possible on iOS.

Anyways, I guess we’ll see come release!

  9. I actually believe I saw this in the Crackberry forums and the person (if I remember correctly) did say this is what they believe the BBM will look like in their perspective…it is not official, it is just simply a photoshop mock of what someone believe its to be…the real one would be using modern BB10 BBM icons for contacts, groups, etc. this one is using older icons.

  10. I think Blackbery should hold a BBM-a-thon and have crackberry users unite to send out BBM invites to as many people as possible. If every BBM current user brought in 20 users BBM would have over 1 billion users …making it a HEAVYWEIGHT!!! Monster

  11. Can’t wait to send invites to my entire addressbook!

  12. They said that the bbm will support chat and groups only in the first version . And this picture are showing blackberry channels on iphone so I think its fake
