Review: Temei 2nd Battery Cradle Dock for BlackBerry Z10

I’ve seen the tweets and pics for different docks for the BlackBerry Z10. I’ve always had a dock that charges a spare battery for my BlackBerry Bolds, and I miss that for my Z. I really want the BlackBerry branded one, but since that’s not publicly available I had to search out other options. Not wanting to wait a month for some I saw in Amazon, I decided to give the Temei dock a chance. It shippped quickly and wasn’t expensive. At this time I haven’t found a dock that does both the usb sync and charge and the hdmi cable as well., so my choices must have a sync/charge and spare battery charge port for me to even purchase it. That’s where the Temei came in.

This sync/charge dock is available on Amazon for the low price of $7.29 plus shipping and tax. Shipping is a mere $4.49. I thought for a dock that I’ll use til the official one is available, this will do. I waited and it took about a week to come in.

When my package arrived it was in a manila shipping envelope and it was just a little white box with print. It says 2nd Battery Cradle, easy to use, synchronize with phone and the battery charging in the cradle, allows horizontal viewing media, a protection circuit,  LED light indicator and charging your phone with or without a case. The insert can be removed for charging with a case on.

The parameters of the dock are as follows:

  • Dimension: 145x57x30 mm
  • USB Interface: MICRO USB
  • AC Adapter Features:
  • Output: 100-240V AC (50-60Hz)/ Output: 5V 10o00mA

The box includes the desktop charger and a usb cable. The dock has a micro USB to charge your BlackBerry Z10, and it has the slot in the back for the spare battery. It has a removable portion in the dock so that you can remove it and charge the Z10 with the case on it. You can plug the cord into the back and the LED lights up when you plug it into an adapter or the laptop/PC. The device fits well in the dock and when I synced the pictures, it syncs flawlessly. It charges at a typical speed. I would really love to have the hdmi option, but for charging a spare battery and my device and to sync to the pc/laptop as in side loading or pics, it works great.

So the only con for me was the fact that it has no hdmi. Other than that it works well for what I need. The blue LED light is helpful in knowing if it’s plugged in or not.

For the price it isn’t bad at all. If you’re looking for a dock that will charge and sync and a relatively low price, this is the one to get. You can grab the dock from Amazon at the following link:

  1. Just ordered one myself. 🙂

  2. Sweet! Getting 1 (maybe 2)! Thanks!

  3. Cool I ordered mine last week 🙂

  4. I would assume that the lack of HDMI on all these docks is due to the licencing fees associated with HDMI.
