Leaked OS For BlackBerry Z10 Model STL100-2 & 3

IMG_00001080If the last OS leak didn’t work for you check out the latest leak for the Z10 model STL100-2 & 3. The latest leak lbfe over at CB Forums is version a bit higher than what is being released officially. LBFE says the battery life is much better on this one. I have not installed it yet and hopefully it is true as I am having the worst battery drained after loading BBM Channels. Will install and report back to you later. If you have it install let us know how it compared to previous leaks.

Install at your own risk, we are not responsible if you brick your device in the process. Below are some instructions on how to install the leaked OS.

Installation Instructions if needed:

Turn off your BlackBerry Z10.

Run the file that you just extracted.

Connect your Z10 to your usb cable and quickly turn it on.

The autloader should connect to your Z10 and start the process.

Sit back, have a coffee or a tea and wait until the process is finished.

When the autoloader has written 100%, the program will terminate and the window will close.

Disconnect your BlackBerry Z10 and wait for it to reboot.

Your BlackBerry Z10 will now be in the position that it was in when you purchased it, so set it up as you normally would.

  1. Installing now

  2. Because I had nothing else to do this Friday evening…

    Backup done. Installing….

  3. What I would like to know is, if this update fixes the random reboot problem.

  4. It’s been running now for many hours and seems good. There are no issues to report and everything works as well as I expected.

I created an MSOffice 365 Account to try synchronization of Contacts and Calendar and the initial setup / transfer has been really slow (a few thousand contacts) but it is working well too.

  5. This is amazing.. But I’ve a question… If I install 10.1 from the above link, will I be able to get auto updates from RIM as usual?

  6. What will happen depends upon what your Carrier decides to push out to you in the future.

This leak is several revisions ahead of what the Carriers are currently pushing. If they release a revision of the OS to you your device will check to see if what it is running is newer. If it is – your device will offer the update to you. Otherwise – you’ll still be running a newer revision.

The short story is that you’re good to go either way.

Running a leaked version requires a factory reset of your phone by the way. This means you need to set it all back up again from scratch. Waiting for a released version is not as much fun as being ahead of the game – but it’s a lot less painful.

  7. Thanks William…

Seriously, I need to do more testing and find out what is the trade-off, but this build gives me twice the battery life and seems to be more stable.
