BlackBerry has mentioned their Secure Workspace solution a few times a few times since March and now we have official details. The new BlackBerry Enterprise Service update supporting Secure Workspaces will launch by the end of June 2013 and is already in extended beta. It protects data at rest and data in transit on iOS and Android devices. They are saying it is pending Apple App Store and Google Play approval but it will allow for securing client applications like email, calendar, contacts, tasks, memos, browsing, and document editing. It will all go through without a VPN using BlackBerrys single outbound port solution. That means no incoming firewall requirements.
