BlackBerry R10 Caught On Camera Yet Again With Non-Removable Battery

We heard rumors before that the BlackBerry R10 lower end model would not have a removable battery like the current BlackBerry 10 device. We confirmed with sources that the first pre-production model of the R10 did have a removable battery and this second model does not have one. This is shown off in the latest pictures of the Q10 that BBIN managed to scrounge up. It is also compared to the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and other devices in pictures to give you a better idea of how it looks. Let us know what you think!

  1. I think having the R10 without a removable battery would be a mistake.

  2. If you have a removeable battery many people will talk about battery life not mattering. If yyou are stuck with a solid non opening device and have great battery life I feel the word will spread and cause more attention to the device. That’s what BlackBerry needs is more attention.

I think this is a great way to get it.

  3. non-removable battery means less parts, cheaper price and tighter packaging. Smart move for a low-end device.

…and kudos for keeping the resolution the same as Q10.

    • Yeah there are some benefits especially in terms of being able to shape the battery however they wish but still I prefer removable

      • Just buy a Q10 then, which probably is what RIM wants you to do anyway.

Q10 and R10 are well differentiated while keeping the platform homogenous… Kudos again.

  4. Wrong move for a low end consumer device. Support issues change, try teach less savvy users how to reboot a device without having the ability to pull a battery.

I just hope this design changes, because it looks like rubbish.
