Analyst Claims 5" BlackBerry "Z10 Like Device" Coming By Year End – Z10 Production Increasing

I always love hearing what analysts have to say as long as you take what they say with a boulder of salt. The latest speculation comes from Jefferies Peter Misek who stated today  that "The build plans have steadily been increased since February," for the Z10. "Our Asia checks indicate that the builds have recently increased from 2M/month to 2M+.” He also said that his checks show the return rates in the US are “typical” and "Overall, our checks indicate typical return rates. Of the few phones that were returned, the only main commonality we found is that buyers thought the Z10 had a keyboard. As it does not, they returned it and will buy the Q10 instead."

Misek also said (via StreetInsider) that there are 2-3 more BlackBerry 10 devices coming this year. That includes a mid-range keyboard device for ~$400 (R-Series), a mid-range touch model, and a 5” Z10-like device scheduled for a year end launch. The rumor mill is going to be fun today… :)

  2. yes and no, one of the top two issues with BB at the moment is its damaged brand image (the second being the app gap) and flagship phones are a good way to appease the masses, especially online reviewers who crave the latest in hardware innovations.

    HTC One anyone?

    • The Two top issues for BBRY are 1) it’s damaged brand 2) it’s very damaged brand.

Upgrading the brand image with some hard work and attention will bring users, developers and some honest conversation. Other wise!!!!!!

Palm anyone? Sony Anyone? Nokia?….no need to go on.

  3. Wow they returned the Z10 and got the Q10. Where can I get the Q10? LOL

  4. “…is that buyers thought the Z10 had a keyboard.”

It does have a keyboard — a virtual one.

I think by “keyboard” Peter implies a physical keyboard.
