Analysts Claim BlackBerry Z10 US Sales are Shrinking & Returns are High

Information Overload

You have to be entertained by analysts. Quite a few of the pessimistic ones were hammered badly when BlackBerry announced their earnings last month and the analysts were totally wrong. My favorite was Pacific Crest saying that “there is no line of sight to profitability” a month before BlackBerry announced a profit. These are the same analysts who predicted that BlackBerry may sell only 300,000 Z10 phones when they actually sold 1 million.

Now the analysts are back again starting with ITG analyst analyst Joe Fersedi who said that the BlackBerry Z10 “started poorly and weakened significantly as the days passed, and that Z10 sales are in line-to marginally ahead of anemic sales of older BlackBerry models.” according to techvibes. Detwiler analyst Jeff Johnston piled on harder (via WSJ) stating that “We believe key retail partners have seen a significant increase in Z10 returns to the point where, in several cases, returns are now exceeding sales, a phenomenon we have never seen before,”

I am not sure if BlackBerry will be responding to these doom and gloom analysts but there are over 155 million shares short on BBRY stock so somebody is losing serious money if they do not go down. Let us know what your personal experiences have been with Z10 sales in the comments. I have personally found that users like their Z10 on AT&T and T-Mobile but the much older OS on the Verizon model is causing some serious issues.

  1. I’m in for the LONG run!

  2. All these Anal-ysts are just looking for ways to manipulate the masses to get them to sell, lower the stock value at their advantage.
Stock Market = GAMBLING + SPECULATION.
    Loving my beautiful Z10!!!!

    • Your comment is speculation, but the stock market and the other exchanges are beautiful mechanisms that make many aspects of the developed world so great.

      • Yeah… whatever bro… the only reason anyone would say that is if they were directly involved in this so called “Beautiful” stock market. I’m sure you enjoy making money out of it, but that doesn’t take away the reality of it still being GAMBLING and pure SPECULATION.
