Enhance Your Photography on the Z10 with an OlloClip 3 in 1 Lens

IMG_00000641 I love taking pictures with my Z10, but I envied that iPhone users could buy extra lenses for their devices, helping with wide angle and close up images.  It sent me on a mission to see if one would fit my Z.  I set off to my local Future Shop, seeing if some of the iPhone ones would fit the Z10… low and behold, the iPhone 4/4s OlloClip did! ($49.50 @ Amazon with $4.99 shipping)

The OlloClip has 3 features, a wide angle lens, a macro lens, and a fish eye lens.  It just fits the Z10, the lenses and the Z10 camera  do not exactly line up perfect, and it blocks the flash… but who cares when once see  the results!  Check out some of the photos below, and grab one for yourself at your local electronics retailer or camera shop!

And finally, my favorite, the macro lens in a cup of sprinkles, I couldn’t believe how close it would focus!IMG_00000631IMG_00000630

UPDATE: Turns out one of our favourite BlackBerry Dev PR guys Alex Kinsella is also a huge fan of the OlloClip and uses it often on his Z10. You can check out some of his shots here.

  1. Hey Fubaz, how good is it with focus and zoom? The Z10 brought out the photografer in me and I wouldn’t mind getting one of those!

    • I had the phone set on automatic focus, and as long as the lenses were clean it wasn’t an issue.

I encountered some annoyances when the lens would get a hair or dust on it, but easily cleanable.

I did not try to zoom with the wide angle or fish eye, weary of what would happen. But as you can see the macro lets you get really nice and tight to things.

  2. Curious….does this also work on the Playbook?

  3. Nice post! I recently got the olloclip for my 4s and had that same question and soon realized its equal if not better to what it produces on the iphone 4s. And it also inhibits flash on the iphone, so no worries about losing out there for those who are interested bit do not have an iphone. Cheers
