BlackBerry Travel Updates in BlackBerry World With More Enhancements

IMG_00000452BlackBerry updated several apps today and BlackBerry Travel is one of them. The update adds global support, and battery improvements. The early version if you left email scanning turned on killed the Z10 battery fast. It appears that this new update aims to fix the battery issues some were experiencing so if you do update let us know if you see any differences.  I really liked this application the way it kept me updated when traveling using my 9900 but I’ve yet to use it with the Z10 for travels. If you have let us know how it has helped you in the comments below.

  1. I really wish Blackberry 10 native apps would be on par with 7.1 so current owners of Blackberries wouldn’t be disappointed, of course better would be a plus…

  2. They’re first generation apps on a new platform. It’s only been a month or two since the platform launched so give it time. Ad you see BlackBerry is updating them quickly so they’re coming up to par fast. The social networking apps and connectivity are far better than BBOS.

  3. I’ve had my Z for three days now and I have to say that I am struggling a bit with all the new stuff. The “old” BlackBerries all had similarities from OS to OS over the years. Even 6 was easy to learn compared to 5, although I didn’t stay with 6 long because my trusty, hard working 9700 just didn’t want to run well on 6. So as I learn what this new gen OS is all about it is getting easier each day as I figure out what does what and personalize it a bit. I thought I was prepared with all the reading about and watching all the videos on the new 10′s but was I surprized when I starting using it. As all the people who already have them know there are still a few bugs to work out; profiles just to mention one. I customize my profiles (or did anyway) more than anything else on my Berry. The price we pay for early adoption, I guess. I didn’t even try to bridge it yet with my PB. I’m not ready for that yet although I hear the functionality is lacking a little until 10 hits the PB. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to update a little on my findings. Have a great weekend everybody.

  4. I agree with Steve.

The Z10 is quite a change from my GSM Bold 9760.

Lots of early issues that the carrier wasn’t aware of, such as the end of Blackberry.net email and confusion over email access and forwarding of blackberry.net mail as well as the inability to directly swap device data as has been possible in the past.

All that being said, on day 3 it is getting better every day.
