Google Exec Eric Schmidt Confirms He is Still a BlackBerry User

Google’s Executive Chairman has long been a known BlackBerry user and it seems like he continues to do so. Tomaulik pointed out a video Schmidt did this week with NDTV and at about 10 minutes into the video he confirms that he is still a BlackBerry user for the keyboard. On the other side he does say that BlackBerry is “in trouble.” What I am really curious to see is if he picks up the BlackBerry Q10 when it comes out. BlackBerry should send him an advanced copy and then maybe we can get Google Maps on BlackBerry 10. 🙂

Check out the video here at the 10 minute point

  1. Haha! ROTFL! That’s just perfect! I hope Thorsten will send Schmidt an advanced Q10. It can be considered a peace offering, and we may get Google Maps and more Google love!

  2. thats hilarious. Even with the huge advancements in Android he STILL uses a BlackBerry.

Why isn’t this story all over the news!!!

  3. This just proves that you don’t have to believe in what you do to convince others that it’s great or even the best.

  4. Interesting discussion. He was bold about his love for his BlackBerry. Thorsten, please send him a personalized Q10! Perhaps it will open the door to new collaborations.

Don’t really want to embarass Schmidt to the world, but if he’s partnering with BlackBerry, it will lessen the damage.

  5. OF course he will get the Q10 and not just for the keyboard Blackberry has a business-centric get shit done focus.

He has to say Blackberry is in trouble, but with 100K apps at US launch, I’m not so sure.

If Blackberry can keep the Hig-end corporate and government markets and measurable share of the huge consumer market, they will do just fine.

  6. Blackberry’s have always been about getting stuff done. And now they are encroaching on Android and Apple’s consumer turf rapidly with the smoothest all new OS interface, best browser, best messaging, growing app catalog and the best keyboard on the market. Meanwhile Android and Apple are still struggling to try to compete in the enterprise space and maintain the same stale OS. I’d say it’s not BlackBerry who is in trouble.

  7. To whom it mac convern,

I am trying in vain to find an alarm clock for my blsckberry 9310. Please have some ideas on where I can find one. there is an alam cock that has the reason it went one (like do the laundry, business times, etc.) Please help me find on that works with my devive.

Thank You For You Your Input.
