BlackBerry first introduced BlackBerry Navigator as a free GPS app for BlackBerry 7 devices in the UK. Now they have made a huge update in the Beta Zone and opened up the beta to a handful of larger countries including: Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Germany, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand. They have also lowered the OS requirements to OS 6.0+ which includes the following devices:
BlackBerry OS7 – 9320/9350/9360/9370/9380/9790/9810/9850/9860/9900/9930/9981
BlackBerry OS6 – 9300/9330/9650/9670/9700/9780/9800
If you are looking for a free GPS app for your BlackBerry OS 6 or 7 device and live in one of the newly released countries head on over to www.blackberry.com/beta to join the new BlackBerry Navigator program! Kudos to BlackBerry for making this one happen. I was starting to think it was going to remain UK only.
Check out the screenshots here to see how the app looks. Thanks briard for the tip!

Maybe? Is this app replaces Traffic App? Will the features of Traffic be in Navigator App?

My thoughts are that by opening this up to OS 6+, it will eventually absorb Traffic. Traffic already does tbt nav, just without maps, so it makes sense to me that they should combine Maps, Traffic, and Nav into one product.

Be sure that when you select your model to download, that you go to the link in the address bar, and remove the word “undefined” from the end of the page address. The page will just stall out otherwise.
Just delete “undefined” and click enter and it will then download.

Wow, Matt. Thanks to you, I only banged my head on the table 5 times and not more. That was absolutely moronic. I even looked at the address but that didn’t pop out at me.
HA HA – we have the same wacky warning as with Traffic: Failure to pay full attention to the operation of your vehicle may result in death, serious injury AND property damage.
